Core Functionality Autostop is an automated "exit-trigger" that terminates a parking session when the system detects the vehicle has moved away from the parking location. This is a software-driven feature designed to eliminate overcharging caused by forgetting to stop a session manually.
Compatibility Requirements
Operating System: Exclusively available for vehicles running Android Automotive OS (a standalone car OS, distinct from Android Auto phone-mirroring).
Hardware: Built into supported models from manufacturers like Volvo, Polestar, and Renault.
Account Type: Compatible with both Private and Business accounts logged into the vehicle's native EasyPark app.
How Autostop Operates
The system uses a tiered logic to determine when a car has transitioned from "parked" to "moving."
1. Speed-Based Detection (Primary)
Threshold: Triggers when the vehicle reaches a sustained speed of 25 km/h.
Action: The in-car app sends an immediate "Stop" command to the EasyPark servers.
Benefit: This is the most precise method, stopping the session within seconds of departure.
2. Location-Based Detection (Fallback)
Trigger: Used if speed data is unavailable or inconsistent.
Logic: The app periodically compares the car's current GPS coordinates against the original "Start" location.
1 km Rule: If the car is detected more than 1 km away from the parking spot, the session is terminated.
Check Frequency: Location is verified approximately every 15 minutes.
Note: This method may result in a slight delay (up to 15 minutes) in stopping the charge.
Setup and Verification
Activation: Open the EasyPark app on your car's center display. Navigate to Settings and ensure the Autostop toggle is ON.
Permissions: For location-based detection, you must grant the app "Always Allow" or "Background" location access within the car's system settings.
Notification: You will receive a push notification on your smartphone confirming the session has been stopped.
Critical Rules & Constraints
Manual Backup: If Autostop fails due to poor GPS/data signal (e.g., in deep underground garages), the user remains responsible for stopping the session manually via their phone.
Privacy: EasyPark does not track your route or store historical location data; coordinates are used solely for the 1 km distance calculation and then discarded.
Service Availability: Autostop is not currently supported on Apple CarPlay or standard Android Auto (phone-mirrored versions).
