Core Functionality A parking session may be ended by the system without manual user input. This occurs when a pre-defined time limit is met, ensuring compliance with local parking regulations or user-defined preferences.
Primary Triggers for Automatic Stops
1. User-Defined End Time
Logic: If a specific end time was selected using the parking wheel or manual time entry during session initiation.
Result: The session terminates precisely at the chosen time.
User Action: If more time is needed, the session must be extended manually in the app before the expiration time is reached.
2. Maximum Zone Duration (Local Regulations)
Logic: Every parking zone has a "Max Stay" limit set by the municipality or private operator.
Limits: These can range from a few minutes (loading zones) to several hours or even "until the end of the following day."
Result: Once this legal limit is reached, the EasyPark system is required to stop the session to prevent a violation of local laws.
User Action: You cannot extend a session beyond the zone's maximum duration. The vehicle must typically be moved to a different zone code to continue parking via the app.
3. Autostop Feature (In-Car / Telematics)
Logic: Available in specific vehicles (e.g., Android Automotive) or for Business accounts with telematics.
Trigger: The system detects the vehicle moving away from the parking location at a certain speed (e.g., >25 km/h) or crossing a 1km geofence.
Result: The session stops automatically to prevent overcharging.
Notification & Verification Logic
End-of-Session Alert: A push notification is sent the moment a session is automatically stopped.
Status Check: Users can verify the "Max Stay" for any zone by tapping the Zone Details in the app map or checking physical on-site signage.
Reminders: Users can enable "Reminder before parking ends" in Menu - Notifications to receive a warning (5–60 minutes prior) that a session is about to expire.
Critical Rules & Constraints
Authority: Time limits are legally mandated by the parking operator, not EasyPark.
Fines: Parking after a session has been automatically stopped (without moving the car or starting a valid new session where permitted) may result in a parking fine.
Billing: You are only billed for the actual duration the session was active.
