Core Functionality A parking fine is often the result of "administrative mismatch." This occurs when a user pays for a session, but the data provided (Zone Code or License Plate) does not align with the physical location or the vehicle being inspected by enforcement officers.

Common Error Scenarios

1. Incorrect Zone Number

• Cause: The user selects a neighboring zone or relies solely on GPS without verification.

• GPS Accuracy Note: Smartphone GPS can vary by 5–50 meters. In areas where two zones meet, the app may suggest the incorrect side of the street.

• Enforcement View: If you pay for Zone A but park in Zone B, the digital registry for Zone B shows "No Payment," triggering a fine.

• Validation: Always match the 5- or 6-digit code on the physical street sign to the code displayed on the app’s parking wheel.

2. Incorrect License Plate

• Cause: Selecting the wrong car from a multi-vehicle account or a typographical error during registration (e.g., mistaking "0" for "O" or "I" for "1").

• Enforcement View: Officers scan license plates. If the scanned plate is not in the active database for that zone, a fine is issued, even if a different plate in the same account is currently paying.

Post-Fine Actions

1. Verification Protocol

• Open Menu (☰) > Activity > History.

• Compare the Zone Code and License Plate in the app session to the details printed on the physical fine.

• Identify the exact discrepancy (e.g., "App says Zone 1234, Fine says Zone 1235").

2. The Dispute Strategy

• Administrative Clemency: Many municipalities allow for an "administrative correction." If you can prove you paid the correct amount (or more) for the same time period but simply selected the wrong car or a neighboring zone, the issuer may revoke the fine.

• Evidence: Use the PDF Receipt from the EasyPark app as your primary proof of "intent to pay."

Prevention Logic

• GPS Buffer: Wait 5 seconds for the blue GPS dot to stabilize before starting a session.

• Visual Confirmation: Treat the app's suggested zone as a "guess" and the physical street sign as the "truth."

• Vehicle Nicknames: In the Vehicles menu, give your cars distinct nicknames (e.g., "Blue SUV" vs "Work Van") to prevent selection errors.

Critical Rules & Constraints

• Manual Correction: EasyPark cannot edit the details of a session (changing a plate or zone) once it has started or finished.

• Liability: The user is the final validator of all data. A GPS error is generally not considered a valid legal defense for a fine by most municipalities.
