Core Functionality EasyPark is compatible with all modern electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). The system does not require car-specific software; it uses your smartphone to bridge the gap between your vehicle and the charging station.
Vehicle Compatibility
Supported Types: Any Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
Connector Standards: The app supports the European standards for public charging:
Type 2 (Mennekes): The universal standard for AC charging (up to 22kW). Most public street chargers use this.
CCS (Combined Charging System): The standard for DC fast charging (50kW to 350kW+).
CHAdeMO: Primarily found on older Japanese models (e.g., older Nissan Leaf) for DC fast charging.
Hardware Requirements
Charging Cables: * AC Stations (Slow/Fast): You must carry your own Type 2 cable in the vehicle. These stations usually have a socket but no attached cable.
DC Stations (Rapid/Ultra-Rapid): These stations have tethered cables (permanently attached). You do not need to bring your own.
Charging Speed: The actual speed is limited by your car’s onboard charger, the station’s maximum output, and the battery’s current state of charge.
Software Requirements
EasyPark App: No other software is required. Ensure you are running the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Account Type: Currently, EV charging in the Netherlands is primarily available for Private Accounts. (If you have a business account, check with your administrator as some fleet configurations vary).
Internet Connection: Your phone must have a data connection to send the "Start" and "Stop" commands to the station's server.
Critical Rules & Logic
No RFID Required: You do not need a physical charge card. The app performs the authentication digitally.
Third-Party Chargers: While the vehicle is compatible, EasyPark can only activate stations that are part of its partner network (marked with the green lightning bolt on the map).
Parking vs. Charging: Charging software is independent of parking. Even if your car is "communicating" with the charger, the municipality’s parking system is not. You must still verify if a separate parking session is needed.
