Map and Location Display Issues

Core Functionality The EasyPark app relies on a combination of your device's GPS (Global Positioning System) and a stable internet connection to overlay parking zones onto the map. If either is compromised, the map may appear empty or show an incorrect location.

Primary Causes and Solutions

1. Location Services & GPS Accuracy

If the blue dot (your location) is missing or inaccurate, the app cannot fetch the relevant zones for your area.

• Enable Permissions: Ensure location access is set to "While Using the App" or "Always" in your phone's privacy settings.

• Precise Location: On iOS and Android, ensure "Precise Location" is toggled ON. Without this, the app only receives a broad "neighborhood" estimate, which is insufficient for street-level parking.

2. Connectivity & Data Loading

The "empty map" or "spinning wheel" usually indicates the app cannot reach the EasyPark servers to download zone data.

• Stable Connection: Switch from Wi-Fi to Mobile Data (4G/5G). Public Wi-Fi often has firewalls that block the specific "pings" required for map data.

• App Refresh: Force-close the app and reopen it to trigger a fresh data fetch.

3. Non-Paid or Restricted Zones

EasyPark only displays zones where it has a contract to facilitate payments.

• Free Areas: If you are in a residential area or a suburb where parking is free, the map will remain blank.

• Manual Verification: Always cross-reference the app with physical street signs. If the sign has a zone code (e.g., 12345) but it doesn't appear on the map, the app may be experiencing a localized outage.

4. Manual Overrides

If the GPS is failing but you know where you are:

• Manual Entry: Type the Zone Code directly into the search bar at the top of the screen.

• Search by Address: Type the street name and city to jump to that location on the map manually.

Critical Rules & Constraints

• Liability: The app’s GPS is a suggestion. The user is legally responsible for verifying the zone code on physical street signs before starting a session.

• Out-of-Service Zones: Occasionally, a municipality may temporarily suspend a zone (e.g., during a festival or roadwork). In these cases, the zone will be hidden or marked as "unavailable" in the app.
