Core Policy EasyPark acts as a facilitator for parking fee collection on behalf of municipalities and private operators. Parking fees are legally classified as a local tax or contractual obligation. Therefore, refunds or cost adjustments are not possible for sessions that continued running due to user error or connection issues.
Potential Causes
Connection Failure: A "Stop" command may fail if the mobile device has a poor internet connection or limited signal at the moment of the request.
Lack of Confirmation: A session is only officially terminated when the app displays the summary screen (showing the end time and total cost).
Missing End Time: If a session is started without a pre-set end time, it remains active until the user manually stops it or the zone's maximum allowed parking duration is reached.
Garage Exit Issues: In camera-controlled garages (ANPR), technical interference or an obscured license plate may prevent the system from registering an exit, keeping the session active.
Verification of Status To confirm a session has officially ended:
Check for the presence of a "Summary" screen immediately after stopping.
Navigate to Menu (☰) > Activity. If the session is listed in the history with a final price, it is closed. If it appears under "Active," it is still running.
Prevention Tools
Time Wheel: Always set a estimated end time when starting a session to ensure an automatic stop.
Reminders: Enable push notifications in device settings to receive alerts while a session is active.
Constraints
Refund Ineligibility: Costs incurred between the time the user intended to stop and the time the session actually ended cannot be reversed.
Maximum Duration: If forgotten, a session will only stop automatically when the specific zone's maximum stay limit (set by the municipality) is reached.
